The Alberton Public School District would like to thank all of our staff, students, parents and guardians for helping to keep our schools safe places for learning despite the challenges created by the current pandemic.
As we continue to take steps that keep us in our regular routines, there continues to be spread of the COVID-19 virus in our state, county, and community. We wanted to share a few practices we hope will help keep everyone safe and slow the spread of illnesses.
•If your child is not feeling well, please keep them home from school. Even if COVID has not been confirmed, it’s still a good idea to keep your child home until you have talked with a health care provider or test results are known. Your child may not have COVID, but they could still be sick with a cold, flu, strep throat, or other contagious ailment.
•Please do not use fever reducing medications and then send your child to school. This should be the practice at all times, not just for the current conditions.
•If someone in your household has a confirmed case of COVID-19, please consider all household members as close contacts and get tested. The new variants of the COVID virus have been found to be more easily transmitted, so we need to continue taking measures that will slow the spread.
Keeping our students learning in school is extremely important to us. If we all work together, we can ensure that continues while also keeping our amazing students, teachers, and staff healthy and safe.
If your student will be missing school, please call the main office at 406-722-4413 to report them absent.
Thank you all so much.
Good Morning,
The safety of students and staff is our number one concern and given the severity of the roads, especially our bus routes, we have decided to cancel school for the day (Wednesday, January 12th). Again, today will be a snow day due to weather & road conditions. Please stay safe!
We are so proud to announce the release of our student-led newsletter The Albertowner! Good morning, Alberton!
We have a few friendly reminders about morning drop-offs at the school.
To ensure the safety of all students and staff, we are again asking parents to no longer drop off their children in the school parking lot. The designated drop-off site is the street location just outside of the elementary school playground.
We are also asking any community members to please avoid using the street drop-off location for parking their cars between 7:00-8:00am and, again, from 3:00-4:00pm. This will keep the drop-off area clear and flowing well and will also cut down on children needing to cross Railroad Avenue. During this time of year, especially, it is still fairly dark in the mornings, and a lot of cars are traveling on the main road.
This is also the perfect opportunity to remind the Alberton community as a whole that many children arrive at school via foot or parent drop-off between 7:30-8:00am. Please, be mindful and safe as you are driving through town and past the school.
If you have any questions regarding school drop-offs and/or parking, please call the main office during regular school hours at 406-722-4413.
We thank you all for your understanding and cooperation as we continually work to keep our students safe while at school.
